Bellbridge pupils devastated over computer thefts

PUPILS at Bellbridge Primary School have been shattered after heartless thieves stole six new computers, only two days after they were installed in a $3 million learning centre.
Police told the Weekly the bandits struck the school in Bellbridge Drive, Hoppers Crossing, between 5.30pm on February 24 and 7.30am the next day, by smashing glass doors with a rock.
The centre, which includes six classrooms and multimedia spaces, was funded through the Building the Education
Revolution program and opened last month. Principal Debbie Clancy said the smash and grab had devastated the pupils.
"They're angry somebody would do this to them, and they're the ones who are being affected, not us," she said.
"We'll now have to wait and hope the insurance comes through ... it will be at least two months before we get things up and going again."
Information to Werribee police on 97429411 or Crime Stoppers on 1800333000.
