An innocent posting on Facebook about a visit to Universal Studios led to the arrest of a suspect after a computer laptop was stolen Tuesday from a home outside Moorpark.

Moorpark police said they visited the home in response to a residential burglary call. Thieves had entered the home and stolen a laptop.

Moorpark detectives learned the resident of the home had told a friend that he and his family were visiting Universal Studios on the day of the burglary. The friend innocently posted something about this on Facebook. Detectives also learned that the laptop was equipped with GPS.

Detectives said they traced the computer to a hotel room in Ventura through the use of GPS.

Detectives arrested Arnold Ikeda, 32, in the hotel room for possessing a stolen computer. He also was arrested on several drug-related offenses, police said.

They also arrested Desiree Lovio, 30, of Oxnard, in connection with drug-related offenses.

Ventura County Sheriff's Department deputies urged those using social networking sites to do so responsibly and be careful as criminals often use these sites to gather information when they're planning a crime.
