SALEM -- A Salem medical marijuana grower was arrested by Salem police on drug and theft charges that include 19 computers stolen from the Salem-Keizer School District.
Henry Guist, 34, was accused of four drug-related crimes involving marijuana and two counts of first-degree theft, said Lt. Dave Okada. The case remains under investigation and further accusations are pending. Several of the drug charges involve activity within 1,000 feet of a school.
The arrest came after an investigation that also included the McMinnville Police Department.
Guist's home at 3692 Stanley Lane S had been the target of complaints from neighbors, but he refused to allow officers to enter his marijuana growing operation.
Returning with a search warrant, a police SWAT team raided the home on Feb. 28.
In the home, police found several firearms, including a shotgun reported stolen in Monmouth and a handgun taken in Salem. Tools from a Salem burglary were also taken. In the home were the Salem-Keizer school computers.
Guist is a Oregon Medical Marijuana Program card holder, Okada said. Inside the home, police found a grow operation that vastly exceeded the parameters of the card program, Okada said. He had a total of 130 plants in various stages of growth.
Two other warrants served in Salem yielded more drugs and a gun, Okada said.
