One arrested at Poway burglary

POWAY — Sheriff’s deputies interrupted three burglars loading computers into a stolen van at a Poway business early Wednesday. One of the suspected thieves was arrested, sheriff’s officials said.

An alarm alerted the Sheriff’s Department to a 2:30 a.m. break-in at Apricorn Electronics on Kirkham Road near Scripps Poway Parkway.

Deputies went to the business and saw three men run behind the building and hide in some heavy brush. One man, Julio Garcia, 27, was taken into custody, sheriff’s Sgt. Jason Vickery said.

Two deputies brought dogs to help search for the other two men for more than an hour, but the pair escaped. Vickery said the men had forced their way into the electronics business and were in the process of loading computers into a van that had been stolen in Oceanside.
