Five teens face charges in Gypsum crime spree

Five teenagers are facing charges in a five-month crime spree in Gypsum that netted about $50,000 in goods, including stolen cars, the Eagle County Sheriff's Department said tonight.

Deputies arrested Julio Armendariz, 18, of Gypsum, Victor Andres Marquez, 19, of Avon and Raul Omar Perez-Ordondez, 18, of Gypsum, as well as two 17-year old boys from Gypsum, whose names were not released because of they are juveniles.

Some of the stolen property — including three vehicles, laptop computers, iPods, tools and cell phones — were recovered.

The Sheriff's Department said the teens stole items from vehicles, locker rooms at the Gypsum Recreation Center and local businesses, sometimes damaging property in the

process.

Some of the stolen vehicles also had extensive damage, according to the Sheriff's Department.

Three of the teens were already on probation for previous offenses, the department stated.
