Theft at catering college computer lab

NAGPUR: Six computers and a monitor were stolen from the laboratory of Government Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology at Sadar. The theft came to fore on Sunday. This is the second theft in the laboratory in the last three months, with a similar theft reported there in January. 

Cops were surprised by the theft since there were five security guards at the site. The premises are surrounded by a high boundary wall, with a jungle towards the rear. 

The miscreants had sneaked out with the computers after damaging the lock of the laboratory door. Astonishingly, there were two private security guards patrolling inside the premises while three others were deployed near the entrance. 

Police also said that someone with proper knowledge of dismantling computers appears to be behind the theft, as the culprits had left no clue. Sadar cops have registered an offence.
