Hospital: No patient information on computer stolen in Framingham
FRAMINGHAM —
A MetroWest Medical Center spokeswoman said no patient information was on the computer that was stolen from the blood bank earlier this week.
Spokeswoman Beth Donnelly said the computer did not contain personal patient information, and any other data is encrypted.
"Everything is safe, and there is nothing on there that could affect patients," Donnelly said.
The computer was stolen from Framingham Union sometime early Tuesday morning. The theft was discovered when an employee came to work, police said.
Framingham Police arrested Jennifer Mackey, 36, of 28 Dana Road, on Thursday at 2:45 a.m. and charged her with breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony and larceny.
Police said Mackey was caught on security surveillance video entering the blood bank offices empty-handed and then leaving with a duffel bag that appeared to be full.
The computer has not been found.
Mackey is being held on $650 bail. She is due back in court April 28 for a pretrial conference.
