WATERBURY -- Police say a man arrested after breaking into Wilby High School on Sunday is responsible for stealing more than $16,000 worth of computers, cell phones, digital cameras and video cameras from both the school and a cellphone store at the Brass Mill Center mall.
Police say Davon Berger, 23, targeted the high school three times, breaking in once last year, again in January and a third time early Sunday, when an officer responding to a burglar alarm saw him trying to drive out of the parking lot with his headlights turned off.
The officer stopped Berger, and found a pair of needle-nose pliers and a digital camera in Berger's pockets.
Berger admitted to police that he had burglarized the school, according to court documents. Police found three stolen iMac computers in the trunk of the Chevrolet Lumina he was driving.
