Computer disappears from locked NECCO classroom

HAVERHILL — A desktop computer was reported stolen from a classroom at Northern Essex Community College.
Officials of the school contacted police at 12:12 p.m. to report the theft, police said.
The teacher in whose classroom the computer was located, noticed it was missing early Wednesday morning.
He reported finding only the cable that secured the computer to the desk, police said.
The officials told police the room is always locked because it is one of several rooms known as smart classes which are equipped with computers.
The Dell Optiplex 760 desktop computer was valued at $750, police said.
It was last seen in the classroom on Monday night, police said.
