MIAMI (WSVN) -- Authorities are questioning a person of interest who may be behind the recent burglaries at several South Florida businesses.
Surveillance video showed the burglar as he broke into several businesses inside an office building near Biscayne Boulevard and Northeast 71st Street, Saturday.
The suspect, who was wearing a red T-shirt, tried to break into a total of 10 different offices on the third floor of the building. He managed to gain access into several of them and stole computers, files and other office items.
The bandit also reportedly stole candy from the candy jars in some of the businesses and at least two sweatshirts. Some of the victims said they found a half-eaten lollipop they believe the robber left behind.
According to one of the victims, Jessica Wade Pfeffer, her public relations office was ransacked. "The whole bottom drawer was pulled out," said Pfeffer. "They stole my computer and my backup drive, so I have nothing, so I'm going to have to call in a lot of my PR friends to help me to rebuild my business during such a time."
Pfeffer said the crook also took something that is extremely valuable to her. "The mouse to my computer belonged to somebody very close to me, who passed away from ovarian cancer a few years ago, and that was stolen, too," she said. "That's the hard part, that you feel so violated. There is no dollar amount that could relate to what happened to me today. The information that was stolen was priceless."
