Wednesday, 11 April 2012 23:54 BY KNA
Armed thugs raided Manyatta Secondary School in Ol Kalou constituency and stole 11 computers on Tuesday night. Seven thugs raided the school at midnight tied the watchman with ropes to a pole after beating him before breaking into the school's computer laboratory and made away with the loot.
They loaded the computers into a waiting car before escaping. Nyandarua police commander Simon Gababa said no arrests had been made but investigations had been launched.
The theft comes barely a day after thugs broke into government offices in Nyahururu and stole more than 10 computers during Easter holidays. The burglars broke into the Nyandarua North Probation, children’s, Trade and Youth Affairs and stole office equipment including computers and printers within the District Commissioners compound that is guarded by Administration Police officers. Gababa said detectives were following crucial leads after questioning several people and expressed confidence that the culprits would be nabbed soon. Among those questioned are the AP officers who were on duty within the compound during the Easter period.
