SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio— Someone broke into a church office on Tuesday and stole a computer.

Reports say a teacher at the Garfield Memorial Church on South Green Road noticed  about 7:30 a.m. that an office window was shattered and the computer was stolen from a desk.

Officers noted pry marks on the door and reported it appeared someone unsuccessfully tried to pry the door open. They then removed wood molding around the door's window, likely causing the glass to fall to the floor.

They also noted the modem and speakers were thrown on the floor. The computer was valued at $900 and the damage to the door at about $100, reports say.

Reports also say the building had been used the night before by various groups holding meetings.

The building formerly housed the South Euclid-Hillcrest United Methodist Churchuntil a leadership and name change in September.
