UK COMPUTERS STOLEN FROM CAR REPAIR SHOP Burglars Drive Off With Cars Worth 11k (from Sutton Guardian) Burglars drive off with cars worth £11k
By Richard Lyons
A group of determined burglars used a car to ram through the 6ft gates which barred their escape during an audacious raid on a vehicle repair centre.
More than £1,500 of damage was caused and about £11,000 worth of property including three cars was stolen in the burglary at KMC Crash Repair Centre, Redhouse Road, on Thursday, December 29.
Sutton police said CCTV footage captured the group of males approaching the premises shortly after 1am.
The men then tampered with a security night vision camera, forced open the garage's shutter doors and internal doors before taking three computers, a scanner and a safe.
Three vehicles were also stolen by the men who used one of them to ram open gates to the property.
Images recorded on CCTV show the cars, which have not been recovered, driving away down Redhouse Road before turning into Mitcham Road.
Paul Springate from Sutton's crime management unit, said: "We are seeking a group of individuals who committed extensive damage during the incident, disregarding the property of innocent third parties.
"We are anxious to recover the three vehicles taken and would ask that anyone who has any knowledge of the incident or who may have seen the vehicles since, to contact us here at Sutton."
The stolen vehicles were a white Ford Transit van with the vehicle registration number LT03 NLM, a Ford Focus with the registration number V433 GJK and a black Vauxhall Vectra with the registration number X134 KNS.
It is thought the vehicles belong to customers who left them at the centre for repair.
Anyone with information can call the crime management unit on 020 8649 0539 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
