Man hides pilfered computer in weeds
HAMDEN - A 43-year-old local man was arrested Friday after police said he was found with stolen computer equipment.
At 1:50 a.m. Friday, police responded to Dixwell Avenue and Goodrich Street at about 1:50 a.m. on the report of a suspicious person, Capt. Ronald Smith said.
Officers saw a man handling computer equipment that was placed in tall weeds. Police later determined the equipment was stolen from a residential burglary at 865 Dixwell Ave.
Jessie Upchurch, 43, of 115 Morse St., was charged with third-degree burglary and second-degree larceny. Upchurch was arraigned Friday in Superior Court in Meriden. He is being held in lieu of $25,000 bail and returns to court Aug. 4.
