CHANDIGARH: Thieves targetted a showroom of Dell in Sector 34 and decamped with computers and laptops. Though, the exact loss was yet to be ascertained, sources said preliminary investigations revealed 14 computers and laptops and apart from three dozen CPUs were missing.
The stolen hardware was estimated to cost Rs 10 lakh.
The incident was discovered on Saturday morning when showroom owner Vishal Sharma found the shutter broken on reaching the shop. He informed the Sector 34 Police Station. Forensic team personnel and dog squad arrived at the site.
Inspected the area, cops found that the owners had not installed any CCTV camera.
Sources in the police department expressed apprehension about the intension of the miscreants by claiming that insurance refund could be yet another motive behind the burglary. The complainants were yet to submit a list of the stolen items to cops.
