TVs, laptops stolen from West Jacksonville church

Three flat screen televisions and four laptop computers together totaling more than $7,500 in value were recently stolen from a Westside church while employees and members were away, Jacksonville police say.

Burglars targeted Answering the Call Outreach Ministries at 5800 Ricker Road, breaking into the church sometime between 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday afternoon, according to the police report.

The report said a female employee stopped by the church on Saturday to turn an air conditioner on when she realized what had happened and called police.

Officers arrived and found that the back door had been kicked in.

Two of the TVs taken were 40-inch in size and were mounted on the walls inside the church.

Times-Union news partner First Coast News reported that the church was also recently victimized when the pastor's car was stolen a few months ago.

An official from Answering the Call told First Coast News that the church plans to relocate.
