Computers stolen from school – again

TEACHERS have hit out at thieves who broke into a school and stole computer equipment.
The Frinton campus of Tendring Technology College, on Rochford Way, was raided on Sunday night, after crooks broke a panel in a door to force their way in.
A large amount of IT equipment was taken, including 30 laptops.
The school’s business manager Mark Rowson says it was one of the worst times for the crooks to strike.
He said: “We are coming up to the period of the year when our students should be sitting exams.
“Whenever we have an incident like this it has a big impact on the education of all of our students. We try to carry on as best we can, but something like this causes huge disruption.
“We can source computers from outside the school, but it takes time which we often don’t have.”
It is the second time in two years the college has been forced to replace equipment. A number of laptops and projectors were stolen in February 2011.
The stolen laptops were eventually recovered after police found them during a raid on a Colchester drug den.
Anyone with information on the latest incident can contact officers at Clacton, on 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
