Thieves break into MS Society, steal computers

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. —
Police are investigating a break-in at the Georgia chapter of the national Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Channel 2's Mike Petchenik found out the burglary is hindering the

Once inside Rangel told Petchenik the thieves stole three laptops.
"They certainly are invaluable to us so that we can connect to our donors and our clients and continue to do our work," Rangel said.
Rangel said the laptops didn't contain any sensitive information but were an important part of fundraising efforts during a very busy event season for the charity.
"We have clients who are in crisis mode, who need financial assistance. We're unable to speed up the process and be efficient without a laptop where we obviously store a lot of our information," Rangel said.
Police said they're looking into whether this was a random break-in or if someone targeted the nonprofit.
"A lot of traffic goes through at all hours. There are people out and about in that area," Capt. Keith Zgonc of the Sandy Springs Police Department said.
