Culprits stole electronics and damaged artwork Friday in the iHuman Youth Society building in downtown Edmonton. (CBC)
The iHuman Youth Society is re-grouping Monday after a break-in over the weekend.
Culprits broke into the building at 102A Avenue and 96th Street and stole computers and recording equipment Friday. Some artwork was also damaged.
Some of the artwork is now lost, which will devastate the young artists, said Broomfield.
"Any artist who's ever lost any piece of work they've been working on...knows what it's like when you've created something that you think's very powerful and then you lose that," she said.
"For some of the youth it will be traumatic."
The stolen items are covered by insurance, Broomfield said.
iHuman uses the arts to mentor and build trust with hundreds of young people who are at risk of substance abuse and crime who can't or won't get help elsewhere.

May I simply just say what a relief to uncover somebody
who actually knows what they're discussing online. You certainly know how to bring an issue to light and make it important. A lot more people should look at this and understand this side of your story. It's
surprising you are not more popular since you definitely have the gift.
